Author: [livejournal.com profile] fleurlb
Crossover: Deadliest Catch
Word count: 1,500

Characters: Tim Riggins, Jonathan Hillstrand, Andy Hillstrand
Rating: PG

Warnings: None
Spoilers: Spoilers for all of Season 5 of Friday Night Lights

A/N: Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] devilc, for providing this new, delightful fact to my head canon.

Summary: The Timebandit has a new greenhorn with a shady past.

First day of the crab fishing season, the wheelhouse on the Timebandit

“So, how are you feeling about the crab fishing season so far?” asked the producer, just to start things rolling. Jonathan and Andy were seasoned veterans of the interview, but the producer still found it best sometimes to point them in the direction that he wanted to go. God knows where they’d end up otherwise. Given the bags under Andy’s eyes, they’d had a late last night in port.

Characters: Hastings Ruckle, Buddy Garrity Junior, brief appearances by Luke, Tinker, Becky, and Coach Taylor
Rating: PG

Spoilers Spoilers for all of Season 5 of Friday Night Lights

A/N: Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] devilc , for providing the opportunity to work with two of the most criminally underused characters ever. Thanks also for providing a reason to step outside of my usual comfort zone and dive into slash. Or rather, fumble my way slowly. :)

Summary: Hastings Ruckle has a simple plan for Dillon, Texas: no attachments, no drama. It's a foolproof and simple plan, until Buddy Junior shows up and ruins everything.

When Hastings Ruckle rolled up in Dillon, Texas, he’d already memorized twelve home addresses and had suffered through being the “new kid” at eight schools. He saw Dillon as a cross between a challenge and a prison sentence: survive the next two years and then he’d be free. Able to attend any college he wanted. Able to set down some roots and live in the same damn place for four whole years.

Title: Our Last Days as Children
Author: [livejournal.com profile] fleurlb
Recipient[livejournal.com profile] faithintheboys
Word count: 11,000
Rating: PG
Warnings: None
Spoilers for SPN: Up to and including 5.6 “I Believe the Children Are Our Future”
Spoilers for FNL: All of Season 1. Everything after that is mostly AU.

A/N 1: Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] faithintheboys , for providing the opportunity to combine two of my favorite shows. I’ve taken a lot of liberties with FNL, to make it fit with my timeline. I’ve also conveniently ignored pretty much everything that happened after FNL’s first season.
A/N 2: The title comes from an Explosions in the Sky song.
A/N 3: Thanks to the friendly mods for their understanding and assistance and also for running an awesome exchange.

A/N 4: Finally getting around to posting a link on my own LJ. The link will take you to the spn_summergen com, because I'm just too lazy and tired right now to post it properly here, since it's so long that it takes two parts.

Summary: From the prompt: AU, Crossover with Friday Night Lights. The one place Dean never wanted to move from was Dillon, Texas. He played football there and was good at it. He even considered playing college ball. As the world is ending, Dean and Sam are drawn to Dillon on a hunt.

Dean shifted in his seat and stretched his legs, hoping to get some pressure off his belly. The breakfast had been delicious, almost too delicious, and finishing off Sam’s extra sausages had almost certainly been a mistake. Still, at least they weren’t in a rush, and he could relax and enjoy the Sunday paper.

Title: Chasing the Story
Fandom: Friday Night Lights
Rating: PG
Characters: Julie Taylor, Billy Riggins, Tim Riggins
Word Count: 1500
Spoilers: Yes, for the entire series including all of Season 4.
Warnings: None.
Disclaimer: I own nothing here and am just doing this for fun.

Notes: Written for [livejournal.com profile] meghan_84, as a result of a Guess the Fic meme. I’m not going to tell her prompt, since it gives away a spoiler from 413. Also, I've taken massive liberties with just about everything in this fic, so please don't let the facts get in the way of the story. :)

Julie stood in the cramped waiting area, which smelled like sweat and bleach. She wrapped her sweater around her more tightly and wondered if she was doing the right thing. Maybe she should just leave. She sighed and blamed her stupid car and Billy Riggins for the fact that she was standing in the last place on earth she’d ever expected to be.

1. [livejournal.com profile] rachel_wilder  just posted the story I 'won' in the [livejournal.com profile] help_haiti  auction. A Place to Be is a beautiful, heart-breaking story that answers the age old FNL question "Where the hell is Mama Riggins?". Please, go read it and love it, because that's all there is for it. :)

2. If you're into Leverage but didn't sign up for the 2010 Leverage Gift Exchange, please consider signing up to be a pinch hitter. I'm looking to compile a list of pinch hitters for all sorts of gifts, including the fic, art, and vid varieties. I've never run one of these things before and am pretty much already shitting bricks about making sure that everyone who signed up gets a gift on the reveal day. (Yeah, I'm way ahead of schedule on the worrying, but that's just part of my charm.)

3. If you're into Leverage and you belong to any of the Leverage comms, then I'm sure you've already heard about [livejournal.com profile] leverageland , the fun new team-based challenge community. I signed up and am on [livejournal.com profile] teamgrifter , which is still short a few people, so, if you're interested, please sign up. (C'mon, any team I'm on is going to be overloaded with awesome. And yes, modesty is another of my charms. Thanks for noticing. :))

It took me a looooong time before I was able to sit down and re-watch the FNL season finale. I'll admit it - I was kind of being a baby about it. I've been really hormonal and emotional this week and wasn't sure I'd be able to hack it. I think the wait was probably good, and I definitely think I would've been in 87 pieces had I tried to watch it any sooner.

Of course, rewatching is only one part of it. Getting my thoughts to line up in any sort of cogent manner is quite another. But hell, when have I let logic and structure stop me before? That's right, never. But, to try to force some manners on the post, I guess I could go by character (in no particular order).

I don't think I can really write about this week's FNL until I have a chance to watch it a second time. But I do have an amusing story and a couple of questions about the episode.

Cut for spoil-y type information on FNL and Leverage. )

Warning: Set several weeks after episode 4.7 left off. If you’re not into spoilers, you’ll probably want to wait to read it.

Matt dropped a few more shirts into the small blue suitcase that Aubrey had lent him. It had wheels and a telescoping handle, and she assured him that it would fit in the overhead bin. His stomach was churning and he felt like he had when he first stepped in for Jason Street: unprepared, incapable, and generally terrified.

Notes: Follow-up story to White Blank Page, Volume One

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The first day, Matt drove for over twelve hours, the flat, dusty scenery rolling past him, fast and familiar. He let his thoughts roam as he listened to Bob Dylan in a car that still smelled like pizza. He’d somehow managed to solve most of the problems on his mental list: how to leave, when to leave, where to go, what to say to Grandma and Shelby.

Notes: I originally planned this to be one story, but then it kept getting longer and longer. It seemed to be falling nicely into threes, so I think there will be three volumes, with three scenes in each. The name comes from the Mumford & Sons song “White Blank Page”

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Matt sat in the car, listening to his mother and grandmother fuss over the television. He leaned back against the seat, turning things over in his head. Discussions about appliances or the proper way to cook eggs....that could be his life for the next ten years.

Author’s Note: I’m sure I’m bending all kinds of rules and fudging all sorts of canon to bring these two worlds together. Any mistakes are my own. Calendar wise, it’s July/August. Timing-wise for FNL, it’s the summer after Julie’s graduation from high school. Timing-wise for SPN, it’s some time during the middle of the first season.

Tim woke up slowly, as though he was surfacing from a great depth. The sun slanting in through the blinds made him reluctant to open his eyes. When he finally did, he blinked a few times as the room came into focus.

Devin noticed him first, stopping mid-note to give Landry a little kick. They’d been sitting in Landry’s garage, lounging on lawn chairs, just playing around with a few songs. It wasn’t an official band practice. Landry had some unexpected time on his hands after the meltdown of East Dillon football.

Chapter Two

Tim pulled open the back door of Julie’s car and dropped his duffel bag in the backseat. After shutting the door, he looked up at the window, where Herc was waving and making silly faces. Tim grinned and waved goodbye, then climbed into the front seat. “Herc says if we’re going to New Orleans and Key West that we’re going to need fake IDs,” said Tim.

Chapter One

Julie was proud that she'd managed to remain relatively calm during the actual conversation. She'd limited herself to a few questions, and then stolen a neutral statement right out of the Tami Taylor playbook. Something like “Well, if that's what you feel like you have to do.”
