I love your exploration of Nate's time in the seminary and why he left. His religion doesn't get enough focus in fan fiction, I don't think. My person favorite, rather romantic theory as to why he left has always been that he wanted to marry Maggie, but yours is infinitely more well-thought out and logical. :)
