A little love

So, we're up in Dublin for a few days. Himself has to teach a class on Saturday and he also wants to intoduce Liam to his favorite aunt, who is 96. When someone is that old, you don't hang about, promising vaguely to visit someday.

This visit was meant to correspond with an interview at the US Embassy to register Liam's birth, but the embassy has suspended all appointments. They're suppossedly improving processes or paperwork or something. All fine and good, but Liam and I have plans to visit my family in Ohio in May and he can only enter the US on a US passport. (yes, transatlantic travel alone with a baby. I'm either crazy or ... Crazy. Don't think there's any other choice on that question.)

The upshot is that there is a second trip to Dublin in our near future. Good for seeing friends/family but annoying because I really hate the place.

Oy--dealing with government offices blows.

This might be a good time to travel with Liam, while he's still too little to want to walk or crawl. He'll probably sleep a good amount of the flight.

If you get good airhostesses, travel with a little one shouldn't be too bad, especially if he's still in the stage where he sleeps a lot. Bad Airhostesses on the other hand... *growly!Koala!face*

As I've mentioned before, I love your brain and how it works. I love that you have whole epics thought up in the time that it takes me to remember my middle name. I also think it's pretty cool that you're in library school.

Yeah, riding in the car totally knocks him out so I'm hoping for the same effect on an airplane. although it'll probably mean that we arrive in Ohio in the late evening and he'll think it's morning. A jet lagged infant is probably a frightening thing. :)

I love your super-mad, OCD-esque proofreading skills. It's seriously magical. You catch everything. Betaing for you is both easy and scary, since your copy's so clean, but I get paranoid that I might miss the one teensy error you might have missed. But that rarely happens because errors rarely get passed you.

I will hope for good air hostesses. Will probably be flying Aer Lingus, so I think they're usually fairly good. (Can you imagine flying with an infant on Ryanair? Eep!)

I love your enthusiasm and energy. Reading about your adventures always makes me smile and think 'ah, to be young again.' Not that I'd want to go back, but it's fun when all your choices aren't made yet.

OK, I love that way you think up plots. Lots and lots of plots. I also love your flexibility and patience, which I abused horribly when we were co-authoring.
